Pahoa Village, Hawaii" painting by Michael Silbaugh depicting the way the town of Pahoa, Hawaii looked at night while Kilauea volcano was erupting. The village had beginnings as a rugged sawmill town, and later a major stop on the sugar plantation train line, Pahoa has retained its charming turn-of-the-century Victorian style. Pahoa maintains the historic Akebono Theater, Hawaii's oldest theater.
